Different Types Of Warts
Although there are many different types of warts, they are all caused by the same thing - the humanpapilloma virus. This is a virus that affects your skin cells and causes them to grow more rapidly than they should. The result is the bumpy benign tumor that we call a wart.
Warts can affect anyone, but typically you see them in younger people under the age of 30. Anyone can get the human papillomavirus and, in fact, can spread it to other people thus causing them to get warts.
There are many different versions of the human papillomavirus and they are actually different kinds of warts as well. Be that as it may, all warts affect the outer layers of the skin (the epidermis) so they are rather superficial and nature. The problem, however, is that the virus can remain under the skin and even if you remove a wart, it can come back simply because the virus is still there.
There are four main different types of warts that most people are concerned with:
Common Wart - otherwise known as Verruca Vulgaris, this is the typical bumpy wart that first comes to mind when we think of warts. These are usually found on the hands, elbows, knees and ankles but can actually be anywhere on the body.
Flat Wart - typically found on the face, these warts are smoother on the top and flatter in appearance.
Plantar warts - some people refer to these as planters warts but they have nothing to do with planting. Found on the bottom of your feet they can be quite painful especially if they are at a point where you put pressure on them would walk. Incidentally, plantars warts can be transferred through moist floors, so always wear some sort of foot coverings in public showers and locker rooms.
Genital Warts - these warts are found in your genital area and are easily spread through sexual activity. If you have genital warts, you want to be kind of careful of the treatment that you give them for obvious reasons.
It doesn’t matter if you have different types of warts or one kind of wart you’re probably looking for a way to get rid of them.
