What Causes Warts?
The virus that gives rise to warts is called the human papilloma virus. It can be transmitted from one person to another. The virus usually gets inside the body via the breaks in the skin and it flourish in humid moist places so it is always linked with locker rooms and public showers where you would often make skin contact with wet floors where other individuals have also been walking around.
A closer look at what causes warts, someone might say that warts could be prevented by wearing something on your feet at the gym or pool and staying away from sharing personal belongings with other people like towels and razors.
While anybody can have warts, still, not everyone does. Some people appear to be more at risk to the virus than others. Frequently, people under the age of thirty and those with lower immune function are more likely to get warts. Not every person who is exposed to the human papilloma virus will automatically be afflicted with warts since most people have antibodies in their immune system that can destroy the virus before it can have an effect on their skin cells.
Warts can come out on any part of your body, but they are most often found on the ankles, elbows, hands, and knees. Plantar warts are those located in the base of your feet and, while their appearance might be a little different than most warts, they are still the same kind of wart. They just appear flattened and compressed because of the force of walking on them.
So, if you are looking at what causes warts with an eye towards preventing yourself from getting them, you’ll want to avoid sharing items with people that have warts as well as make sure you always wear something on the bottom of your feet, especially when you are in a public shower, pool or locker room. Also, if you have warts – don’t pick at them! This can give the virus an easy way to spread.
