A mouth wart is simply a type of wart that occurs inside the mouth. This type of warts is very uncommon especially because our mouth is usually a part of the body that has the tendency to be cleaned always. However, being clean doesn’t always necessarily mean 100 % clean and that’s when a human pappilloma virus may stray inside the mouth. Once inside, the moisture becomes a haven for the virus that will then develop into a wart.

There are many opinions on how these can occur. The most common would be is through oral intercourse with a person who has a genital wart. This may seem highly possible although only a few people would admit it. Or a person may touch a genital wart and then unknowingly put his hand into his mouth. This also has a high chance of producing a mouth wart. It can then be transferred to other people through kissing or sharing of personal objects that are used on the mouth.

In other cases, it is just a form of filiform warts that appear as elongated strands. This is actually the most highly possible reason because these types of warts are always observed in a person’s face especially in and around the mouth. Unlike other types of warts, these version of a mouth wart project out from the skin. They appear as a sort of small fingers or tentacles that can be easily touched or brushed upon. This makes them prone to irritation.

Whatever the source may be, a person who has these warts can avail of various ways of removing it. These can be done at home or with the help of a knowledgeable skin doctor.
